Jul 25, 2017Pierce, age 77, of Lincoln, passed away at home on July 17, 2017, with his family members around him. He was born on February 15, 1940, in Lincoln to John and Delores (Kreps) Pierce. George was a retired mailman. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years. He then worked at Roberts Dairy for 13 years and Hilger Vending for six years.While working for the post office, George had a window washing business and drove to Seward after work for 20 years to wash windows. He was an avid musician and played the guitar, but loved playing the harmonica. He could make the harmonica “talk”. George went to as many as three music jam sessions a week. He will be missed by all that knew him.George is survived by his daughters, Valerie Pierce and Les Dorn; Vonda and Pat Leehey; grandsons, Trevor Dorn and Lance Dorn; his significant other of 27 years, Ardyth Wolfe; brothers, Ronnie Pierce; Dick and Nadine Pierce; Edward and Pat Pierce; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Skylar Pierce, and a niece.Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
